Diksa's Teacher Training course is meant for those who are interested in obtaining specific skills to teach children with learning difficulties.
This is a one-month course and includes observation and hands-on training in remedial teaching.
The one-month course will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to learning disabilities
- What is intelligence
- Language processing disorders in children
- Disorders of Reading- dyslexia
- Comprehension
- Spelling
- Sentence writing
- Paragraph writing – types of paragraph structure
- The lesson plan
- Dyscalculia
- Informal assessment
At the end of the class-room inputs, teachers will be required to observe and undertake remedial work. This will help them understand and assimilate the remedial teaching techniques.
They will also undergo a formal evaluation to test their grasp of the fundamentals.
After successful completion of the course, teachers will have more than one career option to choose from. They may either choose to work in a full-time remedial school or take up one-to-one remedial work from home, after adequate on-the-job training and guidance.
