Learning Difficulties – an Overview

LD

The child with learning difficulty is not ready on time. He is disorganized and immature rather than abnormal. He can’t make meaning of what he receives through his senses, even though all are intact.

CAUSES

There seem to be many causes for learning difficulties. The most important one is heredity. Quite often one or more members of the immediate family are found to have had a learning difficulty of some kind.

SYMPTOMS

Difficulty in reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, working with numbers & understanding math concepts. Unable to score well in exams in spite of hard work and good teaching.

REMEDIATION

Remediation involves Phonics for reading and spelling, written expression, comprehension, thinking skills, conceptual math and second language.
